Mentoring

“Mentoring the 100 Way Across a Lifetime” is the essence of the 100 Black Men of Savannah and is an integral part of each chapter program. The goal of “Mentoring the 100 Way Across a Lifetime” is to build trusted mentor/mentee relationships over a period of time through chapter members and volunteers providing personal and professional guidance on an individual or group basis. It involves the development and coaching of community youth with the purpose of strengthening them as individuals, community citizens and future professionals.

It aims to strengthen the chapter’s core and to create transformational change in the communities. We measure and demonstrate the impact of our mentoring programs by established school, community, and home performance criteria.

Each member of the Savannah 100 having direct or indirect contact with any chapter mentee is required to complete our nationally certified online training program. A certificate is issued by National 100 attesting to each member’s satisfactory completion of the program.

In addition to monitoring and maintaining quality control over membership training, the Mentoring Committee also conducts periodic membership training sessions.
