Economic Empowerment Media Day - Feb. 11th
Last Modified: 2/1/2010 3:14:38 PM

Join the 100 Black Men of Savannah, student, faculty, and staff of Sol C. Johnson H.S.at 10:00am on Thursday February 11that Sol C Johnson High School as the Savannah 100’s Economic Development Committee, in partnership with Sol C. Johnson H.S.,  introduces students, parents, and media to our new Economic Empowerment program.

Becoming financially empowered starts with understanding financial choices. The SCJ/100 Economic Empowerment program is all about choices, the right choices. By giving youth the opportunity to learn about Real Estate, Business Planning, Stock Markets, and Banking we are helping our youth with keys to financial freedom. The SCJ 100 Economic Empowerment Project will have real business men and women in the community teaching lessons from everyday business life. Select seniors will also have the opportunity to shadow a Savannah business professional for a workday, seeing how they operate in the field. By combining real world lessons with real world experience youth will get a glimpse of what the future may hold for them.

With the support of the business community, Johnson H.S., and the 100 Black Men of Savannah, Inc., the project will also offer four, $1,250 scholarships to eligible seniors.

This is a great program dedicated to our youth and we invite you to Parent & Media day to see what it is all about.

Lloyd A. Johnson, President

Charles Gilyard, Chair, Economic Development Committee

Hasani Lateef K, Co-chair, Economic Development Committee
